EIL / ESL My fascination with languages, especially English, began at secondary school and continues until today. It led me to decide on a career of teaching English, which I have been pursuing for the last 13 years. I began by studying for a Master’s in English philology in Bulgaria and most recently completed a Master’s in Education (TESOL) with the University of New England, Australia. After all my studies and experience, I still feel strongly that learning about language and language teaching is endless.

| I have been fortunate enough to gain plenty of experience teaching students for whom English is a foreign or second language. Apart from teaching in my own country, Bulgaria, my work has already taken me to three continents - twice to Africa (Botswana and Nigeria), to Ukraine and to Brunei. It has been exciting and challenging to teach, and learn from, young people who come from often vastly different cultural and educational backgrounds - they have shown me, time and time again, the power of tolerance and acceptance of diversity.
Travelling has also enriched my view of the world – something I enjoy doing when on holiday. Apart from visiting different places, I am fascinated by science (especially physics), music and crafts, and happily spend a free hour or two pouring over a National Geographic or Science Today magazine, or strumming my guitar, or making a bead necklace, or simply reading a good novel. Having lived in West Africa previously, I fell in love with the music and art of the region, and look forward to returning.
