Guy Colborne

IB Coordinator and History
Guy Colborne was born on a submarine base in Scotland in 1973. His family now lives in Cornwall. After university he trained to teach English as a foreign language. He worked teaching English for several years in Turkey and Greece before finally moving to Ethiopia. While teaching in Ethiopia he decided to make a firm commitment to education so went back to the UK to train as a secondary school teacher. He worked in England for four years before deciding that he wanted to go back to Africa. Since then he has worked in two different international schools, one in Tanzania and the other in Cambodia which were both amazing experiences.

Guy’s passions include anything African, wildlife, photography and outward bound activities. Guy is a trained Duke of Edinburgh’s award instructor and enjoys seeing how the award helps students grow in confidence and ability. Last year he took a group of students to Mt Kilimanjaro to complete their walk! Guy loves teaching history especially about Nazi Germany and the Stone Age in Africa.
