Mufti Day

Once or twice a term, students are allowed to go to school in Mufti. The occasion is used to raise funds for charity. Students wear their own clothes instead of school uniform and pay a token amount of 250 francs to their form teachers.

There will usually be envelopes with a class list in each register, and instructions for teachers to collect the above, put into the envelopes provided, seal and send back to the Front Desk with class registers.

The funds raised are paid into school charity account and used to support BSL’s local charities e.g. Deaf School, market women’s crèche school etc.

Themes: there is usually a theme selected for each Mufti day. It might be a colour scheme e.g. red for pre-Valentine Mufti Day.

International Costume Day: Friday of the International Weekend is an opportunity for students to dress in their national costumes to the International Assembly.
