UNITED NATIONS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

On the 22nd and 23rd of October our senior football team went to meet the challenge to play Collège protestant, Lycée français and Lycée Tokoin.
Our first game against Collège protestant was excellent; the team gave everything, fought on every balls. Munir was the king of the defensive midfield stopping every balls, Faycal organised the defence perfectly, Jean was solid as usual, Yusuf our captain was a role model for everyone, Loucka our keeper who did not have that much experience at that post made some wonderful saves, we had a couple of frank occasions but unfortunately we did not score. 0-0 at the end of the regular time brought us to the penalties. We were tired, anxious a bit disappointed and missed our first two shots, Collège protestant did not…! We lost on penalties.
Our game for the 3rd place against Lycée Français has been the most disappointed. Tired because of the efforts of the previous day, playing at the beginning of the afternoon did not help but we lost our style, our drive and our energy. We hit the post, had a few opportunities but the score ended at nil-nil.
Penalties again. We did not make the same mistake as the day before and we put our best strikers first, Munir and Christian did not miss the target. But at the end of the 5 shots we were still on par. Loucka made again wonderful saves but it was not enough. The final decision came with the 8th penalty...and we lost!!!!The team has shown great spirit and skills on the first day but needs to gain consistency and both mental and physical strength.
